Analog HD or IP cameras?
HD analog cameras with a DVR are the economical choice for most homes and small shops. IP cameras with an NVR cost more per camera but give sharper images and smarter features, and suit larger shops, offices and industrial sites. See the comparison on our CCTV installation page.
How many cameras? Typical layouts

Storage: how many days of recording?
The more cameras and the higher the resolution, the faster a hard disk fills. Recording only when there is motion stretches it further. Decide how many days of footage you want to keep — many shops want at least a couple of weeks, to check an incident they only notice later — and ask the installer to size the disk for that. For a typical home or shop system we fit a 1 TB hard disk.
Costs that are specific to Cuddalore District
Coastal air. In Cuddalore and other coastal areas, salty humid air corrodes cheap outdoor cameras and connectors. Weatherproof (IP66/IP67) cameras and sealed joints cost a little more and last much longer.
Monsoon and cyclone season. Heavy rain and wind call for firm mounting, protected cable runs and surge protection on outdoor lines.
Power cuts. Without a UPS or inverter on the recorder and cameras, recording stops when the power does — often exactly when you need it.
